About

Welcome to CIRSE – The Home of Innovation and Education in Intervention!

The Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE) is a non-profit, educational and scientific association aiming to improve patient care through the support of teaching, science, research and clinical practice in the field of cardiovascular and interventional radiology.

Interventional radiology is an innovative and ever-expanding specialty that provides minimally invasive treatments for a wide range of diseases, which are performed by trained physicians under appropriate image guidance. CIRSE aims to support education and further research in this field, as well as ensuring excellent patient safety and timely access to IR therapies.

This is achieved through state-of-the-art meetings; publication and media activity; educational workshops and grants; and scientific, advocacy and patient safety initiatives. Furthermore the Society provides an examination for its members - the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR), which is a highly valuable qualification in interventional radiology based on the European Curriculum and Syllabus for IR.

CIRSE also actively collaborates with and supports other scientific, educational, governmental, professional, national and international organisations considered useful to the aims of the Society.

The Society has its registered office in Vienna, Austria.
